Image is EVERYTHING
What is the most important part of a photographic image? Is it the preparation time? You get dressed up...put on your makeup, shave the five o'clock shadow, (I'm referring to both genders here, and hoping that you either do one or the other

) fix your hair, put on some nice clothes...and then you pose for the photographer...lights, backdrop, FLASH! That's the end...your part is done...but is the photograph finished? By no means...
Stay with me here. I know you're wondering where I could be going with that...so just to throw you for an even bigger loop, I'll throw a scripture in here:
Isaiah 50:10
Who among you fears the Lord?
Who obeys the voice of His servant?
Who walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the Lord
And rely on his God.Okay, back the truck up...which line in there doesn't fit? Each line is speaking of a servant of the Lord...but doesn't a servant of the Lord walk in the light?
Then why does it say "who walks in the darkness and has no light?"
I belive it's all part of transforming us once more to be in His image...
If you read the story of Adam and Eve, you find that as soon as Adam ate of the fruit, God's glory was removed from them.
{For all have sinned and fall short of the GLORY... so sin removes the glory of God} When the glory was removed, they realized that they were naked. They no loner saw the glory, but instead, they saw the
flesh. Thus, the very first time the emotion
fear was introduced into human nature. And because of the fear, they hid themselves. They saw their nakedness and literally put on a mask to hide their vulnerability from God. From that moment, the struggle is on: covering the flesh with Glory. But in order to do that, we must first remove our own masks, which we have put on to hide ourselves from God. Our own fig leaves...then and only then, can we truely be in His image once again.
To fit it all together in a verse I
know we all know (but really means something different to me after tonight):
II Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed from glory to glory.I'm all excited...so I hope I'm making sense here!!!
So back to the photography...what does that have to do with it? Well, after the flash, where is the film brought?
Who walks in darkness and has no light? The darkroom.
At salvation, and periodically thereafter, we have "flashses". Intimate moments when God actually speaks to us and reveals things to us..."from GLORY to GLORY"...That is like the initial snapshot. The worship service (preparation) and then the snapshot...But afterwards instead of everything being over and done with and "all better" (as we think it should be in this fast food mentality of ours)...where do we head? Straight through a dark period when the enemy tries to cause us to question our identity in God. It is in the darkroom when the image is developing that the enemy will try to whisper, "
Did God REALLY say that to you? Or was that the voices in your head?" And often, we believe it. And when we do...what do we do? Well, we have one of three choices.
1. Leave the darkroom and forfiet (give up on) the image.
2. Turn on a light (try to reason it out in our own understanding) and ruin the image.
3. Sit tight and trust that the Master knows what He is doing, and that even though you cannot
see with your eyes, you know that what He is doing is for your own good.
Isaiah 50:11
Look, all you who kindle a fire,
Who encircle yourselves with sparks you have kindled
This you shall have from My hand:
You shall lie down in torment. We are to walk in the dark, and let Him be our only guide...and when we have walked through the darkroom, we are one step closer to being transformed as a !!!MIRROR!!! of the glory of God!!
Remove your fears of the flesh which keep you from realizing your true worth in God...and stay in the darkroom long enough for Him to refine you into a mirror image to reflect HIS GLORY....
This may not be a big revelation to anyone else, but I just understood it all for the first time tonight. Can I get a YEEE-HAA?
I HAVE A PURPOSE.
